Paving

When a pavement system nears the end of its life cycle, the surface should be overlaid with a new layer of asphalt. This is a simple procedure to extend the life of your parking lot, driveway or tennis court.

St. Louis Paving will take special care to address the flow of water on the finished surface, all cracked areas, to prevent the translation of cracks through the new surface. All loose or broken areas that move under the weight of a loaded truck must be repaired with full depth asphalt base repair.

Sealcoating

A pavement that has been sealed with a coal tar sealer is impervious highly resistant to gas and oil. The deterioration process caused by fuel and oil spills will be severely curtailed. Coal tar sealer is also impervious highly resistant to the sun's ultraviolet rays, which dry out the pavement, causing it to ravel and lose its flexibility.

St. Louis Paving uses only high quality, commercial/industrial strength sealer, each gallon of which contains 4-6 lbs. of sand standard. For an additional fee, our experts can mix in curing additives.

St. Louis Paving can mix a custom sealcoating solution of sand (for strength and skid resistance) and latex modifiers (for elasticity and hardening). Your coating will last from 2-4 years on your parking lot, when installed by our trained professionals.

Crack Treatment

Cracks are a pavement's way of telling you maintenance is needed. Cracks that are left open allow moisture to easily penetrate into the pavement sub base and start to compromise its integrity. Sealing cracks is a relatively inexpensive way to keep your pavement in a serviceable condition for a much longer time.

Cracks can only be sealed effectively, however, in the early stages before "spider web" or "alligator" patterns develop. These are signs of more advanced failure.

When cracks start to develop in your pavement, ask your St. Louis Paving professional to inspect your parking lot and make a no-charge recommendation for maintenance or repairs. As with most things, a little money spent early on can push off expenditures down the road.

Patching

Asphalt is a flexible pavement and has a specific life cycle based on its original design and intended use. As the pavement ages, it will require isolated repairs to maximize the life of the remaining pavement system.

St. Louis Paving can perform all the necessary work to keep your parking lots, driveways and roadways in top condition, for as long as possible.

Recreational Surfacing

Over 95% of all tennis courts are “hard” courts. This usually means they are made with two layers of asphalt, placed on top of a six inch crushed limestone base. The asphalt surface is then inspected and relieved of major water ponding, coated with layers of a filler material 1 coat of tennis court resurfacer, and three coats of acrylic tennis court paint (2 with sand, 1 without). An hour after the court has been striped and the net is up, game on.

St. Louis Paving has been constructing tennis courts for more than 30 years. We are the St. Louis experts needed for your tennis courts.

Lot Design and Striping

Without pavement markings, parking lots and roadways would be nothing more than crash zones. To ensure safe travel on roads, there need to be center lines, directional arrows, stop bars, and crosswalks.

On parking lots there need to be parking space designations, handicapped parking designations, directional arrows and designated fire lane curbs.

While the pavement markings and signage on new pavements are determined by the construction drawings, existing pavement markings can become outdated and must be brought up to code. Faded markings should be repainted as necessary to keep parking lots safe.

St. Louis Paving can offer ideas on how to maximize your parking layout, and comply with local handicap parking and fire lane codes.

Drain Installation and Repair

Storm drains should be checked on a regular basis because they can deteriorate within, and the deterioration is not easily visible. A catch basin collapse can leave a large hole that poses a severe liability to the property owner.

St. Louis Paving can help mitigate some of that liability by performing regular storm drain checks and doing the maintenance and repair necessary.
