Sealcoating & Crack Sealing
To obtain the maximum life from an asphalt surface, it must be properly maintained. Besides patching when necessary, general preventative maintenance most often includes crack sealing as needed and sealcoating every 2-4 years. Each of these services protect the asphalt surface from further degradation, the majority of which is caused by sunlight, rain, and vehicular traffic. Regular scheduled sealcoating and crack sealing is a smart investment, as it can more than double the life of asphalt pavement.
Sealcoating
Sealcoating is the process of applying a protective coating over an asphalt surface to protect the asphalt from weather, traffic, oil, and other elements.
Crack Sealing
Sealing cracks in an asphalt surface with hot rubberized sealant is known as crack sealing. Crack sealing is performed to prevent water from penetrating the surface causing the asphalt to deteriorate.
